Family Workshop: Chouquettes!

Join us for a baking workshop for kids AND adults! This time around we’ll be making chouquettes, and everyone can get in on the fun.

Chouquettes are wildly addictive cream puffs covered with crunchy nuggets of sugar, then baked until golden-brown. Frequently served in little paper bags at french patisseries (locally at St. Honoré Patisserie!).

We’ll start the morning with coffee, tea and hot cocoa, and then get right down to business. We’ll be making our pâte à choux dough, learn how to pipe and bake, and spend some time snacking on our creations!

What to expect:

  • Class will include all instruction, tools, recipes and ingredients.

  • Our dough will contain wheat flour, eggs, and milk.

  • There will be some demo, and lots of time for hands-on work.

  • This class is appropriate for kids aged 4 and up to attend with an adult, but any age is welcome (bring your aunt, your cousin, your neighbor who is like family!).

  • Please note, this class is priced per person. Please purchase a spot for each person attending.

About our Instructor:

Prior to opening Cookshop, Meredith Mortensen spent nearly a decade as a pastry chef, followed by five years teaching baking, pastry and restaurant management at culinary school. She loves baking at home with her kids, and together they have become addicted to finding the best cream puffs, chouquette and eclairs around (their favorite shop to date was found in Paris, the super fancy L’Ecair de Genie).
